Making the crumble

Using your hands rub the flour and margarine mixture together until the two become like fine bread crumbs, then ...

... add the sugar and mix thoroughly together.

Using a spoon sprinkle the crumble topping evenly onto the surface of the plum filling.

Use the back of the spoon to smooth off the surface of the topping.

Bake in a pre-heated oven of
* 190 degrees Centigrade,
* 375 degrees Fahrenheit,
* Gas Mark 5
for about 30 minutes or until the topping looks golden brown.

Serve warm or cold. Optionally with custard or cream.
