Fourth of July Recipes, Candy and Cake Decorating

You will need the following:

• Gum Tragacanth
• White Sugarpaste
• Blue Sugarpaste
• Red Sugarpaste
• Peach Sugarpaste
• Bamboo skewers or similar
• A ready covered cake - how to
• A small knife
• A small paint brush
• Red food color
• Black food color
• A ball modeling tool
• Dowel cutter or similar
• Silver curling ribbon
• A pair of scissors
• A small amount of Royal icing - recipe
• A piping bag
• A number 1, 1.5 or 2 Becknal or PME piping tube
• A small container of water
• Silver florist's wire
• Sparkling silver foil blocked card (I used a card silver star decoration from Christmas)
• A graphite pencil
• Star cutters
• 7mm/ 9mm Red ribbon
• A Rolling Pin

Instead of using Sugarpaste (rolled fondant) (recipe), you could also use Marzipan (recipe).
