Sesame-Cheese Spread Yield: 2 cups Adapted From: A Kwanzaa Celebration, by Angela Shelf Medearis, published by Dutton (The Penguin Group), ISBN 0-525-94070-7 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (2) 3-ounce packages cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds 1/4 cup milk 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon dried or ground thyme 1/2 teaspoon salt Mix all the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Scoop the spread into a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Remove from the refrigerator at least 1 hour before serving and let it stand at room temperature. Serve with crackers or toast.
