Buttermilk German Grebbles

makes 30

3 whole eggs, beaten very lightly
6 Tbs. butter, melted
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. salt

Beat eggs until light, add butter and buttermilk. Stir sifted ingredients into first mixture. Let set a few hours. Roll on floured board to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into oblong strips. Twist and fry in deep oil at 350 - 360 degrees F until light brown. Remove, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Other serving suggestions:
1. Dip 1/2 of grebble into melted chocolate and lay on parchment paper until it solidifies.

Storage suggestions:
After grebbles cool, place them in a zip lock bag.
Grebbles will keep up to 4-5 days in the freezer.
