Whole Wheat Apple Bread

This is a flavored whole grain bread with apple bits, apple juice and apple butter.

Prepare sponge:
1/4 cup honey
2 cups apple juice, heated to lukewarm
1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
2 1/2 cups whole wheat bread flour

Add to the above and knead then let rise:
2 Tbsp. salt
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup apple butter
1 cup apples, coarsely chopped
2-3 cups whole wheat flour

Cut and shape into two 8-1/2" x 4-1/2" loaves. Slit and glaze with butter and sesame seeds for topping.
Bake at 350 F for 35 to 45 minutes. Cool thoroughly on wire racks.
