Title: La Sirena Gorda's Salsa Verde Categories: Sauces, Mexican, Dkuhnen msn Yield: 3 Cups 3 cl Garlic 2 Serrano or jalapeno chilies, Stemmed and quartered 11 oz Tomatillos, husked and Quartered 2 c Packed, trimmed fresh Cilantro 1 c Coarsely chopped onion 1 lg Avocado, peeled, pitted and Quartered Finely chop garlic and chilies in food processor. Add remaining ingredients and puree, stopping occasionally to scrape down sides of work bowl. Transfer to bowl. Season with salt and pepper. (Can be made one day ahead. Cover and Chill.) Note: A tomatillo is a green tomato-like vegetable with a paper-thin husk. Available at Latin American markets, specialty food stores and some supermarkets.
