Halloween Pumpkin Cookies
1 1/2 dozen

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
Orange paste food color (brand Wilton is easy to find)
Orange sugar crystals 
medium size pumpkin cookie cutter

In a mixing bowl, Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then add vanilla. 

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl and beat into the butter mixture. Add a small amount of orange paste food color to dough. Easiest if you use a toothpick. Beat at low speed until dough is evenly colored.

Roll out dough onto a flat surface (you may need to add a little flour.) Use cookie cutter and get as many pumpkins as you can out of each dough. Repeat the process of rolling out the dough until it's gone. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. 

Sprinkle with Orange sugar crystals and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
